The metal four-poster bed HM572.02 is a single bed in WHITE, for a mattress size of 90x190cm, which harks back to other eras and is a vintage focal point in your bedroom. It consists of 4 tall posts that join at the top, creating the bed's canopy.
Mini Story: The use of a four-poster bed began around the 15th century in the countries of Central Europe. The canopy of the bed was covered all around with curtains, giving an air of grandeur to the final result. It is considered a fairy-tale piece of furniture because it was used by the upper classes. Princes and kings enclosed their beds with heavy, velvet curtains to protect their private moments from servants and to keep the cold away from their beds! In China, however, it was used by all social classes and was in fact the most important piece of furniture in the house. That's why brides often received a four-poster bed as a dowry! Many of the beds had thick wooden posts and a wooden canopy decorated with carved figures. Later, the wooden posts were replaced by metal.
The headboard and footboard have beautiful metal designs, while the height between the floor and the mattress is sufficient for easy cleaning or storing items. The mattress support slats are also metal.
