We present the BRANDON bergère armchair, in a beautiful TURQUOISE color with wooden legs. The legs are in natural wood color, and the front legs in particular have a beautiful carved finish. The backrest is upholstered with a tufted technique that gives the bergère a special beauty, combined, of course, with the high-quality velvet fabric. The armrests and seat are particularly comfortable, living up to the armchair's character.
Classic yet modern, you can place it next to the fireplace, by a window, or even in your bedroom, and surrender to its "embrace"!
Mini Story: The history of the Bergère (see bergere) begins around 1720, in the salons of the Palace of Versailles during the time of Louis XV, where it was considered the armchair of the nobility and the upper middle class. Its construction from special wood, combined with the luxurious fabrics of the era, gave it the feeling of a throne. From its early years, it was considered the queen of seating, both for the privacy it offered with its open armrests, high back, and curved sides, and for its dominance in the space as a decorative element. Over the years (depending on the era and fashion), the Bergère armchair changed its appearance. It was upholstered with floral fabrics, leather, many different patterns with special textures, even Chesterfield. Although over the years we have seen variations in the design of the bergère – the armrests were upholstered, the backrest was raised, the size of the cushion changed – the basic idea of the large, comfortable armchair never changed. In a nutshell…: Tufting is a type of fabric or a sewing technique where seams and stitches form various patterns and folds or bumps. In tufting, the fabric is "puffy" and held in place by the seams which, at certain points, "sink" the fabric. This means that in tufting, many small puffed bumps are created, separated by the seams. These bumps can be diamonds, squares, stripes, and many other designs. The purpose of this style is to break the monotony by creating various patterns in the fabric. You will see that dust will immediately be removed, and the fabric's pile will look like new.
Under no circumstances should you rub a velvet fabric. Even if you need to remove a stain, do not rub it. Moisten a soft cloth with water and dab the stain locally.
Leather (i.e., the cloths we use to dry cars) is also an ideal choice for cleaning velvet.
