CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL:
The "shade" is made of dried banana tree fibers and sisal fibers. Sisal (Agave sisalana) is a species of flowering plant native to southern Mexico, but now widely cultivated in many other countries. Its leaves yield a stiff fiber used in the manufacture of rope and various other products. The term sisal can refer either to the common name of the plant or to the fiber, depending on the context.

MAINTENANCE:
The lamp does not require special maintenance. A dusting at regular intervals is sufficient.
