Introducing the BRANDON bergere, in a neutral GREY color with wooden legs. The legs are in natural wood color, and especially the front legs have a beautiful carved finish. The back is upholstered with a tufted technique that gives special beauty to the bergere, combined, of course, with the high-quality velvet fabric. Mini Story: The history of the Bergere (see bergere) begins around 1720, in the salons of the Palace of Versailles during the time of Louis XV, where it was considered the armchair of the nobility and the upper bourgeoisie. Its construction from special wood, combined with the luxurious fabrics of the era, gave it the feel of a throne. From its early years, it was considered the queen of seating, both for the privacy it offered with its open armrests, high back, and curved sides, and for its dominance in the space as a decorative element. Over the years, the Bergere armchair changed its appearance (depending on the era and fashion). It was upholstered with floral fabrics, leather, many different patterns with special textures, and even Chesterfield. Over the years, we may have seen variations in the bergere's design; the armrests were upholstered, the back was raised, the cushion size changed, but the basic idea of the large, comfortable armchair never changed. A large comfortable armchair is often better than an entire sofa.
In a nutshell...: Tufting is a type of fabric or a sewing technique where the stitches and seams form various patterns and folds or protrusions. In tufting, the fabric is like a "puff" held by stitches which "sink" the fabric at the points where they are located. That is, in tufting, many small puffed protrusions are created, separated by the stitches. These protrusions can be diamonds, squares, stripes, and many other designs. The purpose of this style is to break the monotony by creating various patterns in the fabric. This improves the overall appearance of the item. It gives a sense of luxury and detail in the design.
