Mini Story: The history of the Bergere (see bergere) began around 1720, in the salons of the Palace of Versailles during the reign of Louis XV, where it was considered the armchair of the nobility and the haute bourgeoisie. Its construction from special wood, combined with the luxurious fabrics of the era, gave it the feel of a throne. From its early years, it was considered the queen of seating, both for the privacy it offered with its open arms, high back, and turned sides, and for its dominance in the space as a decorative element. Over the years, the Bergere armchair (depending on the era and fashion) changed its appearance.
