The frame extends to the armchair's legs, which are arranged in a semicircular base with 3 vertical supports fixed on the metallic semicircle. Under no circumstances should you rub a velvet fabric. Even if you need to remove a stain, do not rub it. Wet a soft cloth with water and dab the stain locally. For more difficult stains, dip the cloth in an ammonia and water solution (1/1), clean the stain, and then wipe with a dry cotton cloth against the direction of the nap. Leather (i.e., the cloths we use to dry cars) is also an ideal choice for cleaning velvets.
Finally, if the velvet you want to clean is made of silk, then it is advisable to let the experts clean it and visit a dry cleaner.
