Suar wood is the wood of the Albizia Saman tree, sometimes called the rain tree, a tree native to South America. This tree was introduced to Indonesia as a plantation tree. The configuration of the wood grain can vary significantly, making one piece appear more desirable to a particular client than another. Properly dried, suar wood is very strong and durable.
